Where should I go?

The 8:00 am Sunday service, 9:30 am Thursday service and weekday Morning Prayer are held in the historic St Mary’s Church at the Corner of Peel Terrace, and Queen Street.

The 9:30 am Sunday service is held next door in the larger St Mary’s Family Centre at 119–121 Queen Street.

 

Parking

There is parking onsite, and street parking is available around Peel Terrace and Queen Street. Please allow a few extra minutes to find a space, particularly before the 9:30 am Sunday service. If you require a convenient drop-off point or assistance getting from your vehicle, please contact the Parish Office before your visit.

Accessibility

We want everyone to be able to participate in worship. If you use a wheelchair or mobility aid, have difficulty with steps, require accessible facilities or have another access need, please contact the Parish Office on (08) 9754 3775. We can explain the most suitable entrance and help you plan your arrival.

How long does a service last?

Allow approximately 45–60 minutes for the 8:00 am Said Eucharist and approximately 60–75 minutes for the 9:30 am Sung Eucharist. Morning Prayer is shorter and is typically 15-20 minutes. The Thursday morning Eucharist is approximately 30-40 minutes.

What should I wear?

There is no dress code. Some people dress formally and others come in everyday clothes. Wear whatever makes you comfortable.

What happens at Communion?

Holy Communion, also called the Eucharist, is central to our worship. Instructions are given during the service, so you do not need to know the Anglican service beforehand.

​

If you are unsure whether to receive Communion, you are welcome to come forward for a blessing or remain in your seat. Please speak with the priest before the service if you have any questions.

Are children welcome?

Yes. Children and families are warmly welcome at every service. Children’s Church and activities for younger children are offered during the 9:30 am Sunday service at St Mary’s Family Centre, 119–121 Queen Street. The children’s room has direct access to a secure, fenced play area.

​

We understand that children sometimes make noise or need to move around. Families should feel at ease worshipping with us.

Is there morning tea?

You are invited to stay for morning tea and conversation following the 9:30 am services on Sunday and Thursday. It is an easy way to meet people, ask questions, and learn more about parish life.
